Oban Mountaineering Club

WELCOME –

We are an active, friendly club based in Oban, but with many members far and wide. Formed in the early 1970's the club has been a social nucleus for like-minded outdoors people who like a challenge and a bit of fun. Having such stunning scenery on our doorstep inspires us to get out there.

We enjoy hill walking, mountaineering, climbing (ice and rock) and skiing – all at varying levels of expertise and abilities! As well as mountain pursuits, sea kayaking, sailing, caving, diving and cycling are regular activities among many members.

Oban is a small town in Argyll on the beautiful west coast of Scotland. Surrounded by mountains and lochs on one side and an island studded sea on the other, it’s a superb place for outdoor activities. Often described as the ‘Gateway to the Isles’ (you can hop on a ferry to Kerrera, Mull, the Hebrides and many more islands between) - it’s a popular visitor destination.

Interested in joining us? – come along on Wed nights if you are near Oban, (see Indoor Meets page for details) or get in touch with the Secretary.
Go to Membership for information and relevant forms to download. You are very welcome to come along on some of our meets as a prospective member.
